man repelling & cupcakes'n'cashmering on a budget

this weekend I got to enjoy H&M's new summer pieces. Nautical stripes galore, water colored florals, neons and oodles more.

a few of the fashion/lifestyle blogs I adore always have amazing, shocking pieces that do not really transition into real life. sure, fun to wear & get you some attention, but $500 handbags & $1200 dresses just are not really in the budget, yet...

I did very well at H&M.. scored 5 pieces for $64! because H&M's online shopping is not happening just yet for the US, their online "store" never has all the pieces I find in the stores! But I did instagram a pic, see below:
Left to Right:

ShopPlanetBlue.com - Precious Hands clutch, $29.
"Precious Hands' mission is to help artisans make an honest living and prosper by helping them to produce, market and sell their handmade crafts to world-wide markets. Mayan jewelry is made from the materials that surround their every day lives. Natural seeds from their agriculture, ceramic from their cookware, weavings from their clothing and metals they use in their ornaments. Jewelry plays an important role in the lives of the Mayan people as it is central in the rituals they celebrate."

My shorts in my favorite - Polka Dots! Pale pink with white fun shaped dots.These shorts are by, Naven, a line by two sisters who I frequently see in my building. Their line is to.die.for. but is quite pricey :( I am excited to wear my shorts on a summer night with some wedges!

No bargain needed here! Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere - who recently got a Pinterest accout! - wore this H&M blouse all jazzed up. I look silly in hats and do not have time to get iced coffee during the week at leisure.. but I am planning on sporting this blouse year round. Tucked in (yes, tucked in) to dark skinny jeans with a camel belt, with my navy blue j.crew hemp skirt & gold chains, ah I can see it now. Blouse retails for just $12.95. LOVE!

Of course I did. I could not go on a bargain fashiony shop without going to Forever 21. I loved these Firework shorts from the Love21 line for $19.80. I Love the Love21 line. ha. I intend on wearing them just as they styled for the website but perhaps with wedges..

I was obsessed with this dress from the second I walked in.. and even more so when it was $9.95. It is pretty low in the back and the length is interesting, but the stripes are ME. So the dress is MINE. Sorry, you cannot buy it online :(
&& the grand finale:

love these! by Louboutin, cannot find them online, but I am sure they are at least $500

& Mine!
A little less fabulous, litte less stiletto but a whole lotta less cash. $24.95 from H&M, also available in black!

happy summertime :) but remember, bargainista-ing is in style year round.

creative cultures 8

I first met this week's creative culture in Atlanta, where I lived for a few months in the summer of 2009. Marc met all my fsu girlfrans earlier in the year & have since become a hilarious group of friends that I enjoyed exploring ATL with, floating down the river with, wizard staffing in the blue ridge mountains with and finding under the coffee table (we will leave those details for Whitney to explain).
